0.244.3 - Flying Wires

Fly by Wire

This upgrade introduces new flight mechanics - the fly-by-wire system. With military grade and racing autopilots you now have access to piloting mode where your flight computer augments even your manual inputs, optimizing performance and adjusting vectors on the fly. This gives you access to advanced features of some thrusters - like the vectored thrust - and will automatically compensate for unexpected translation or rotation.

More thrusters

There are now two more thrusters you can install on your ship. Elon Interstellar AGILE vectored Ion Drives are available even at the start of the game, and Rusatom-Antonoff K69V can be purchased once you unlock your racing updates. Both drives are vectored, so they'll benefit a lot with the fly-by-wire system.

Gamepad improvements

You will also find additional gamepad improvements in this build. There were many little tweaks, but the big feature is an ability to sweep for your autopilot target with your right analog stick.

Bugs fixed and small changes

• Fixed a dialog when approaching dead bodies.
• Bodies will no-longer quantum-tunel through hull of an Eagle.
• Fixed flawed thruster placement on Eagle Prospector and Bald Eagle that made the ships bit unbalanced.
• Changed ring density function, so sparse areas are now more sparse, and the denser ones more dense.
• Increased chance of ringrace encounter.
• Fixed background rocks not respecting local density after astrogation.
• Fixed a bug that caused venting minerals and remass above storage limit to not be visible.
• Added new achievement.
• Exiting to the main menu just after starting a new game with the gamepad could require you to use mouse.
